For the Record: Acerbis Lands "Greatest Distance Driven on a Single Tank of Fuel by a Motorcycle (Prototype)"

And with that, Acerbis discovers their chonky monkey in the history books.

Remember how the guys at Acerbis bet they could travel 2,700 miles in a Honda Monkey from Albino to Cape North on a single tank of gas? The team built a sizable, commanding fuel container that served as the tank, fairings, and saddle to accomplish this without making fun of it.

You probably share our sense of humor if you can think of 28.5 gallons of gas being used to transport 9.5 ponies of punch, but hey, Acerbis did it. They beat the record!

Coverage from Superbike News tells us that this effort was, officially, “the largest motorbike fuel tank entirely designed and built in-house.” The team completed the incredible distance of 2599.6 miles while complying with the bike’s fuel requirements, earning them a permanent entry in the 2023 GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® tome.

“As a child, I admired the Guinness World Records book that my grandparents had given me and dreamed of entering it,” recalls Guido Acerbis is the company’s CEO.

“The dream is now a reality because of a hardworking and inspired team. Please accept my sincere gratitude to all of you—there are a lot of you—who made it possible.”

What do you think of the chonky Monkey from Acerbis?
