Man, 29, Dead After Motorcycle Crash Near Courtenay

The Comox Valley motorcycle accident that killed a 29-year-old man happened on a logging road.

At around 9:15 p.m., mounties were summoned to the scene on the Comox Logging Road, close to the Island Highway overpass, west of Courtenay. Tuesday.

Police said that despite first responders’ best efforts, the man died from his wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed may have been a factor in the collision, according to investigators, who are still trying to piece together what caused the crash.

A representative from Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services and the B.C. Coroners Service were also present at the scene.
