NCSHP: 1 Killed After Crash Involving Motorcycle in Iredell County

In a collision in Iredell County, one person was killed after being ejected from their motorcycle.

The collision occurred around 9 p.m., according to the NCSHP (North Carolina State Highway Patrol). on Around Old Mountain Road on Saturday night on Buffalo Shoals Road.

According to police, a 2007 Infiniti G35 was traveling east on Buffalo Shoals Road when it attempted to make a left turn into a gas station and turned in front of a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was moving west.

According to NCSHP, the motorcyclist, Chad Jeremy Hart, 48, of Statesville, was taken to the hospital where he later passed away from his wounds.

George Lee, the Infiniti’s 28-year-old driver, reportedly suffered no injuries, according to the police.

The NCSHP claims that the crash was caused by impairment. Lee was taken into custody and accused of impaired driving. He was given a $15,000 secured bond, which he posted on Saturday night.

The investigation is active, according to the troopers.
