Motorcycle Ride to Raise Money for Topeka VA Nurse With Debilitating Condition

This weekend’s special motorcycle ride will benefit a local woman who needs medical attention for a condition that causes her to experience excruciating pain.

To discuss the occasion and show support for her mother Shawna Deters, Jenae Deters stopped by Eye on NE Kansas. At the VA Eastern Kansas Health System in Topeka, Shawna has worked as a registered nurse for a considerable amount of time.

A CRPS diagnosis was made for Shawna. She suffers excruciating pain as a result of the condition. Jenae claimed that a remedy they’ve discovered that might provide relief is not covered by insurance.

Jenae claimed that a veteran had the inspiration for the fundraising ride. He claimed that since Shawna had spent so much time over the years taking care of so many others, he wanted to do something to assist in her care.

The CRPS Strong benefit motorcycle ride for Shawna is Saturday, June 10

A 9 a.m. registration deadline. with the ride leaving at10 a.m. from Saloon Kick Start, 2521 N. Prior to arriving at Victoria’s Bar, located at 5011 SW Topeka Boulevard, Kansas Avenue riders will stop at a number of locations.

A pulled port dinner will be served at the conclusion for $10 per plate.
