Bantwal: Motorcycle Falls into Deep Gorge, 25-year-old Pillion Rider Dies

A young man from Chikkamagaluru lost his life when the motorcycle he was riding as a passenger fell into a narrow gorge by the side of the road in Talapady, close to B C Road Kaikamba.

Yashodhara, a 25-year-old employee of a private business in Mangaluru, was identified as the deceased. The bike’s rider, his friend Avinash, managed to escape with only minor wounds.

At the Mangaluru City Centre Mall, Yashodhara and Avinash are both employed. On Monday, April 10, around 3.30 am, they were returning from a Kola ritual that had been attended at their friend’s home in Beltangady when the accident happened.

Near the KSRTC bus depot at Talapady of B C Road, Kaikamba, the motorcycle plunged into a deep gorge with a depth of more than ten feet. After being transported to the hospital with serious injuries, Yashodhara later passed away from her wounds. It is unknown what exactly caused the accident.

Melkar traffic police investigated the scene after visiting it.
