Mike Hailwood's 1960 125cc Ducati to Be Auctioned

Some of the most fascinating models in the history of two-wheeled vehicles will be up for auction from April 22–23 at the massive international classic motorbike event known as the Spring Stafford Sale. The legendary Mike Hailwood’s 1960 Ducati 125cc Desmodromic “Barcone” Grand Prix Racing race bike will be one of the bikes on display.

The Ducati “Barcone” engine produced 22 bhp at 11,800 rpm, according to factory records from the era. With a six-speed gearbox, the engine was also capable of operating at 12,000 rpm. Given that it is a race-ready bike with track-focused specifications, buyers of this bike will receive detailed instructions on how to operate it.

Every time you finish a race or track day, the motorbike’s salesperson also suggests sending the engine back to the manufacturer so that the cylinder and piston can be completely replaced.
